Sometimes the only way my family is able to date our old family pictures, is by looking at who’s the baby in the picture and counting backwards. In our family a new baby was born just about every two years, so dating pictures was just a matter of counting the kids. In this photo, Papa proudly holds baby David in his arms.
I have always loved this picture because I wished I could have been there to join on whatever imaginative, wonderful game Eb and Deborah were playing. Instead of a hat, my brother Eb, is wearing a pot on his head and in the background my sister, Deborah is crouched like a cat. It makes me smile to think they must have been deeply engrossed in their game, but stopped just long enough for Mamaji to click this lighthearted picture.
